The best of the Nightmares?

New Nightmare-1994

No question my favorite horror icon is Freddy Krueger. His look, style, personality set him above the Michael Myers, the Jason Voorhes, the Leatherfaces, etc. The Nightmare on Elm Street movie series have always been my favorite since I was younger. Each one is special in its own way. The sixth nightmare titled Freddy’s Dead, was probably the most entertaining in my opinion. Wes Craven’s New Nightmare is the most detailed in the series (whether one considers it to be in the nightmare series). With that said, it is the best, in my eyes. The whole creation of Freddy Krueger is a phenomenon. This real life look into the horror icon through the actors and Wes Craven creates this unreal experience only hardcore fan can feel. Wes  showcases that Freddy is not just a fictional character, but a real one. A real one that truely says evil never dies. Not to mention Freddy’s new, more sinister look! Casual fans of the series will probably be more confused than bored with the film. Confused in that Freddy is not haunting the kids on Elm streets dreams; or that the story line takes place in real life. With that set, out of four stars I’d give Wes Craven’s New Nightmare three stars. Let me know you thoughts!
