Miguel Cotto and Yuri Foreman squared off last Saturday night on HBO. The bout was for Foreman’s WBA belt. I was not impressed with Cotto. He fought lack luster and did not seem to take Yuri seriously. He found out that if you take an opponent lightly, you will take some unneeded blows. That is what happened. From the start, Cotto had the power advantage. I remember he staggered Foreman a few times with just a jab. Foreman landed some nice right hands and was busy. Yet did not put Cotto in any danger. We all say Yuri’s knee give out a few times. What a game guy though by continuing to fight even when a white towel was tossed in the ring. The funny thing was that it wasn’t even from his corner. This was the first time I have seen Yuri Foreman fight. Hopefully he will continue in the future. Miguel Cotto will, just not sure who. Possibly that rematch with Antonio Margarito?
