UFC 147 did not look like a promising event. The saying don’t judge a book by it’s cover proves itself right yet again. The main event was supposed to be the rematch of Chael Sonnen and Anderson Silva. Due to some venue complications, it is postposed for a later date. Instead the main event was a rematch between Rich Franklin and Wanderlei Silva.
Funny thing about this is that Vitor Belfort was intended to be Wanderlei Silva’s opponent. Rich Franklin replaced Belfort for this one. Franklin took the first fight by way of unanimous decision. This time Rich Franklin won by decision again but in 5 rounds instead of 3. This is the new rule in effect that main event bouts are 5 rounds.
The fight was exciting. Both guys came to fight. The majority of the fight was striking. Silva had Franklin in trouble at the end of the second round. In round 3, Franklin was on top hitting Silva with some good elbows. Catch the highlights below.
