ufc 198 review

The Ultimate Fighting Championship hosted their 198th pay-per-view last night. This was a special event for a few reasons; Cristiane “Cyborg” Justino’s debut and being showcased in Curitiba, Brazil. A few other Brazilian fighters were on the card like veterans Maurício Rua and Vitor Belfort as well as Ronaldo Souza. Anderson Silva was initially on this card but was pulled due to problems with his gallbladder.

It was hard seeing a veteran like Vitor Belfort lose. I enjoy watching the old school guys from the early years. However, Shogun Rua won in impressive fashion defeating Corey Anderson. Cris Cyborg made her UFC debut and did not disappoint. Leslie Smith I must say was a game opponent. It will be interesting to see who Cyborg takes on next. We have a new heavyweight champion named Stipe Miocic. He won by knockout in the first round.
